The Ears of Whales

January 29, 2012

From Impossible to I’m possible | Mind Map InspirationIn one of my whale watching experiences, I was puzzled by the fact that whales do have ears. The ears of the whales cannot be seen in the same way that we can see the ears of human beings. The ears of the whales have particular adaptation the water environment where marine life exists. The human ear is completely different from the ears of the whales for various reasons. The ears of human are used in order to regulate the temperature inside and outside the body. In this way, human beings are able to hear because of the ear modulating the sounds. On the other hand, the ear of whales does not work the same as human ear does because the inner and outer environment is almost the same. The temperature of the water is almost the same as the temperature of the whale. However, the whales have greater discretional hearing underwater because of their ears.
